Are there any UXers out there working in biotech?

I’m a seasoned UX designer and researcher working in biotech. I’ve been in the field for about 6 years and I can’t help but think that UX would never be fully valued in the biotech industry. The nature of the industry, makes UX be an afterthought. Curious to see if there are any happy and successful UXers with long steady careers in biotech?
