Australian supplements are garbage
Here’s my reasons:
Undisclosed ingredients. There’s no mention of the other ingredients or what the capsule is made out of. Vitamin D3 is fat-soluble meaning it’s best absorbed with fat. What fat, usually oil, are they putting in with the d3? If it’s not listed you know its cheapest nastiest oil they can get and not extra virgin olive oil.
No 3rd party testing. I think we all know businesses can’t be trusted and I prefer to buy supplements that are 3rd party tested.
Dose sizes. The best I can find for Vitamin d3 here is 1,000 IU so if you want to take 10,000 IU you have to pop 10 capsules.
I’ve started buying overseas branded supplements because they list the ingredients, do 3rd party testing (some brands not all) and provide decent dose sizes. I’m not sure if this is the best approach as I haven’t looked into the laws around supplement standards but the overseas brands are at least on paper presenting better. Curious what others think?
