Texan considering moving to SA how would I be treated?
So for starters I’m 23 from Texas born and raised. I work a full time job at an education facility as in groundskeeping/maintenance department. I’m not a rich person nor a city person I’ve actually lived out in the country/small towns my whole life. Well I have a few friends in South Africa varying locations from Cape Town to Johannesburg. They have been asking me to visit someday and as I come close to vacationing in South Africa. I read on here about how a lot of South Africans don’t want any Americans or really westerners in South Africa at all. So I’m a bit worried about that cuz I’m just some guy who’s raised to be kind respectful not some upity rich a hole.
Also I’ve been looking to immigrate out of the US as I’m absolutely fed up with the way the country is. From the people to politics.
So let’s say I vacation there and I absolutely love it there. N I decide to move and if I do immigrate I’ll obviosly take up the culture and customs.
But should I have any concerns of being treated poorly as a western immigrant in that case.
Cuz I deeply understand the frustration of South Africans over westerners coming here buying land and houses and jacking all of ur prices sky high. I just don’t wanna be lumped in with those jerks.
Heck if military service through immigration was an option I’d likely do that but the US is the only country to do that.
