Has SuperAntiSpyware become adware itself?

Lately, my SuperAntiSpyware has been popping up the "Upgrade Now" (to paid service) notices much more frequently. Today, a popup showed up in the lower right of the screen advertising "System Mechanic" by iolo. I suspect that Superantispyware did this since the presentation and color scheme looked a bit like the new "Upgrade Now" notices. Sure enough, I find that iolo and Superantispyware are both owned by Realdefense.

Has anyone else seen this? Has SuperAntiSpyware crossed over into being adware?
