Zoho OneAuth Has Been a Terrible Experience: Why I'm (Probably) Switching

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the Zoho Subreddit. I know many people don't like these "goodbye" types of posts, but I thought I would share my reasons why Zoho OneAuth is not an adequate product. Additionally, I apologize if this isn't inherently the correct or best place to post about this. However, I thought, what better place than here, where Zoho is most likely to see the post?

Anyways, I initially decided to switch from Authy sometime during 2023-2024 due to their announcement that support for their desktop application would be discontinued. I'm primarily on my desktop, so I prefer to easily access authentication codes from my desktop rather than having to grab my phone. As a result, I switched to OneAuth because it appeared to offer a desktop application alongside a mobile app (many options nowadays seem to have only the latter). However, I cannot say that my experience with OneAuth has been positive since making the switch.

While the mobile application has performed as needed, I’ve encountered multiple issues on both my laptop and desktop that have rendered the application unusable. These aren’t minor errors that can be ignored; they are critical issues that either prevent me from getting past the login stage or cause the entire application to crash. As a result, I’m essentially back to square one, but now with a buggy application instead of an unsupported one.

Of course, the reasonable response would be to contact support about these issues. But honestly, I’m getting tired of having to reach out every time the application encounters a critical, app-breaking bug. This would mark the third time I’ve had to do so. I just want an application that works—one that doesn’t require me to constantly fight to get it into a functional state by repeatedly contacting support.

I hope this somehow reaches someone at Zoho, because right now I have zero confidence in the company. If the desktop app is this buggy, what’s to prevent the same issues from eventually affecting the mobile application? These problems only add unnecessary stress to my account security. For that reason, I see no other option but to go through the slow process of switching to another solution once again.

Once again, I apologize to those who dislike seeing "goodbye" posts on Subreddits related to products, services, or platforms. However, I’ve tried my best to provide a detailed explanation for my decision, in the hope that it might help improve the experience for future users of OneAuth. Unfortunately, I don’t know if I’ll continue to be a user of this service in the future.

Here's an error I encountered just minutes before deciding to create this post. An error saying that \"file is not a database\" that is preventing me from logging into my Zoho account.
