XOKitty is a Kdrama gateaway
It occurred to me today that XOKitty (and also TATBILB) is actually marketing genius from the kdrama producers as they’ve successfully introduced an entirely new audience to kdrama.
All the tropes, all the storylines and formulas - you love it because you know what to expect.
By mixing it with American teen drama and peppering it with just enough Korean subtitles to ease those new to the genre in they’re opening up a huge new market of English-speaking teens.
It’s a gateway drug 😂
