Joe Henry: The Perfect Entrance Theme?
Is Joe Hendry’s entrance theme perfect?
I have so many great ‘older’ themes that are permanently etched into my memory, even ones with no talking (Earthquake’s theme for example).
Now, I’m not saying Joe’s is my favourite of all time, but it certain strikes a chord.
For me, excellent themes: a) Are memorable - the second you hear it it should be recognisable - “Say his name and he appears…” - perfect. b) After the initial pop, the song needs to continue to drive the crowd - Joe’s ‘clap clap’ - the crowd are already yelling the song by this point anyway. Even my four year old daughter knows the clap clap and Joe’s name c) Needs to ‘match’ the wrestler - their style and energy. Well, this is written by Joe (I think). So it IS his energy and vision.
What’s everyone else’s take on his theme? I’m not critiquing his wrestling ability etc here but purely his entrance.
Perhaps the reason I like it so much right now is because so many wrestlers today have instantly forgettable themes.
I believe in Joe Hendry.
