I royally messed up and probably can't graduate and now my advisor won't respond to me. What do I do?
I am a math and physics double major. At the end of last fall I checked all my requirements and determined that I had only two classes left to graduate, which I would take remotely through UT extension, and moved across the country. Because of this, I had to file a cancellation for the spring semester.
I then realized while applying for graduation that I had overlooked some small details of the requirements and at least one class I took for my physics degree will not be counted and a few requirements would probably need a petition to be fulfilled. Yes, this was noticeable on my degree audit, but I did not take note of it because I still had transcripts rolling in and degree petitions going through, and I had gone over my plan to finish my degrees multiple times with my advisors.
Specifically, I took an astronomy course that actually cannot be used to fulfill a degree requirement in CNS. I took multivariable a math course in high school so the Math advisor waived this requirement for my math degree but I forgot that I also need to get those covered for my physics degree. And, I took a course (PHY375S) which was listed on the UT website as fulfilling a requirement (option I requirement 11), but apparently the website is wrong because the degree audit doesn't have the same requirements (specifically requirement 11 is now not an option; you have to take 362L and it is merged with requirement 10).
I understand that there's probably a 0% chance of me being able to graduate this semester. But I need to know what I need to do to even graduate at all, and the Physics Faculty advisor (Dr. Sitz) does not respond to any of my emails. I emailed him before spring break and got no response so I just assumed he was off for spring break. But then I emailed him after spring break and also got no response. So then I called him and got no response. And it's not like I can just go walk into his office because I'm literally not in Texas. So then I emailed mpa advising, who just told me "sorry for the inconvenience" and then sent me a pdf of his contact info? Like, I already know his contact info, you sent me the same pdf when I asked to talk to him 2 weeks ago! Now the graduation/walk application deadline is in 5 days and registration for summer classes is coming up and I'm not even a student of UT anymore or something because I did a cancellation and I need to reapply to even take summer courses and I don't even know what courses to take because Dr. Sitz WON'T RESPOND TO ME.
I'm just upset and lost. I was supposed to graduate spring of last year, but I've just had to push it back further and further because I couldn't complete all my classes in time, and now I thought I'd finally be done with my classes and out of this nightmare but it just keeps going. You don't need to tell me this is my fault because I already understand a lot of this is due to my stupidity. But now I'm in some sort of kafkaesque hellhole and I don't know what to do. Please, if you know who I should contact to get this sorted out, let me know.
EDIT: I contacted the dean, who sent me to the physics department, who then gave me Dr. Sitz's alternate phone number (which does not show up in the contact info pdf or online for some reason), and I was finally able to make contact and get an appointment. Thank you to everyone that gave advice.
EDIT 2: The phone number that worked was his Lab Phone which you can only find on his website. (I would post it here but idk if that's allowed).
