does thca turn into thc when u smoke it????

I saw things about thca a while back i looked up what it was and it said it didn't get u high and then i never thought about it again until just recently i saw it turns into normal thc when u smoke it. is this true cuz i feel so dumb now i was wondering why ppl would smoke shi that doesn't even get you high.
