UCCV Romulus II. Highly modified Peregrine-class starfarer platform.
(Interior and original design in comments)
Log. 7398.02.A-1 supplemental.
- The need for warships is dire. The UC is struggling with the newly formed Crimson Fleet, spacers and outlaws harassing outposts and the looming threat of the Va'ruun sect of Sith zealots. Designed by Revan Alliance Interstellar as an adaptable combat platform, the UC-V Romulus was built and added to the UC Imperial fleet along with 50 other Peregrine-class sister ships. The intent for these ships was to be patrol craft and fleet escorts but the Romulus in particular was built to be a versatile reconnaissance vessel for use on the fringes of UC space. She served for nearly 30 years gathering intel on fleet movements and enemy activities throughout the Wolf system. She changed hands a few times after a Vanguard captain had her for awhile and I found her locked away in a hanger on Eridani IV. She needed some work and I modified very much of her original build.
I added hull armor, fully replaced and upgraded her engine assembly, and added a few new weapons. She now has type 4 ablative plating across her bow, a new combat sensor suite and target tracking unit, her interior is refreshed and designed to house two to four crew members opposed to the cramped original eight. She has redundant fuel systems, shield units, small cargo pods and new articulating high output thrusters on each pylon. Her new engines were designed to fit a corvette. They're much larger than typical for such a small ship and as such their power draw was originally too much for her. A new particle acceleration reactor was the solution. I had to add a bit of bulk to her aft section to house the unit.
I've been on the run from the UC and Aegis for awhile now since they discovered me on Niira a few years back. Odd jobs and doing my best to keep my identity secret has been the key to my survival. Unfortunately my endeavor to keep hidden is eclipsed by my desire to make the empire hurt. I've made a few friends with the Rebellion and I've blended with pirates and spacers in an effort to crush, destroy, dismantle or at least marginally inconvenience the UC in any way possible. And now I have one of their ships and all the little perks that come with her. Including transponder codes, registry numbers and a vast network of intelligence, even if slightly outdated still extremely useful. We've hit a number of listening posts and garrisons to re-arm and retake territory. I've used my lightsaber for the first time in nearly ten years. That, in itself, is my death sentence. All the more reason to openly attack the empire.
