How did you figure out how to write jokes?

Whenever I try to think of things to write my mind automatically goes to 'profound' territory (trying to be) instead of just funny stuff. I am a complete noob but I always make people laugh when interacting with them (with zero profoundness, just joking).

How did you guys figure out how to get your funny in order\on a page? What clicked for you?
