Has anyone else’s XM4 lasted less than three years?

My XM4s aren’t even three years old and have this screeching/feedback noise in the left ear that started randomly. Never dropped, exposed to water, extreme heat, abuse, etc. I’ve done the online fixes and now the problem is intermittent. Contacted Sony and they said to bad buy new ones and no discounts on new ones either. Before this happened I loved these headphones. Anyone else with a similar experience? I would go to the XM5s but don’t really wanna risk the price tag if they won’t last that long.
