Getting Into Sonic Games

Hey, I used to play some of the 2d sonic games when I was younger and just saw the 3rd movie. I wanted to play one of the 3d games but I didn't know which one to choose, Sonic Adventures 2 and Sonic 06 Looks fun, which should I play?
