‘French toast’ or ‘eggy bread’?

We had an absolute debate about this at my work lunch yesterday. Glaswegian born and have always known it as ‘French toast’ and I was shocked when I recently found out my Aberdonian pal calls it ‘Eggy bread’ which is a bit too teletubbie for me - let’s here the consensus
