San Diego zoo and safari zone

Wondering if anyone knows about the popcorn bucket refill situation. I have both the zoo and safari zone buckets but I’m wondering if I could take whichever and still pay for a refill vs take safari bucket to the safari zone and the zoo bucket to the zoo zone.
