we tried!!!

UPDATE: Post Maiden Flight(0 scratches)

we were on standby bc we did not have a lipo balance charger bc my kid bought some big ass batteries (which most likely are why it can’t fly. shoutout to anyone who commented on the last post) My kid is really stubborn, so regardless of all the comments, he said he was already halfway thru so might as well not quit.

He ended up deciding this one was going to be just a proof of concept. Just make sure that it flies in a straight line before we added servos.

Well, she certainly could fly. For 10/15 seconds at a time. She flew nose heavy for the first 7.5 seconds, while he had to really push that throttle to keep it straight.

It started going pretty fast, but the the nose just went down and it nose-planted into the ground, the tail came out flying.

im going to a store called Rotor Riot tomorrow, I’ll try to get a new set of Airplane specific batteries. I’ll also ask for a lighter motor and see if we can afford it right now.

We still got the prints for the model and we’ll try to recreate it. We’ll see if the battery change will help us, since this one totaled 75% of the weights of all electronics
