Weather in Punta Cana

Hi all, I was wondering what the weather in punta Cana has been the last couple days. I'm going late August and I've been checking the weather and it's said thunderstorm most days with like maybe 3 days of sun so far. Was wondering if it was raining that bad there or the weather app is wrong ? Thanks in advance
