Bf seems to not understand

I (22F) have a decent amount of experience with psychedelics. I started trying them at 18, I had a few things I wanted to overcome, and met some people who said that they could help. Before even taking my first dose of anything they sent me numerous articles to read, documentaries to watch, and even topics to do my own research on. From the get go I "taught" myself to take psychedelics seriously. To respect them, know that theyre not a joke or a specifically fun drug, and to know the potential bad effects.

My bf (32f) has done some psychedelics and other hard drugs. Whenever he talks about psychedelics he talks about them as if theyre fun party drugs and he cant seem to understand the enlightening and mind expanding potential that they have. I keep trying to explain that its more serious than that, explain how much I have changed and grown since experimenting with them, and how yes they can be fun, but there is much more there than just watching things melt and having everything turn colors.

Its weird to me that he doesn't understand how they can be used as a tool. Am I in the wrong here or something? Is there something im not understanding?
