Remember to take care of yourselves and have hobbies
Not a crow jebait (but I will bring up the meme for a good reason.)
Please take my word for it and get a hobby, but not something that's tied to a franchise/deals with plastic. When I say this I mean a hobby that is physical and not tied to an established franchise (so no MtG or 40k.) I'm struggling a lot with self esteem issues and it will wreck my days and some of my hobbies help curb those thoughts. Yes feeding the crows is one of them, but I've also taken on whittling and a few others. Please take care of yourselves
EDIT: I'm bad at writing so sorry if this came across as pretty confusing.
A point I'm trying to make is that I think it's too easy for people to get into a hobby that's based around some established franchise it just makes you another consumer rather than becoming a hobbyist around it. I think hobbies that can exist without a media franchise are the better ones you can have. You don't get to become angry if some committee makes a new ruling banning certain figures, cards, etc or you have to pay hundreds of dollars to get into it. Now that doesn't mean you shouldn't avoid those all together. I'm looking at eventually getting good enough with my whittling skills to make some figures as tokens for MTG but I can very much continue the hobby without doing so. Sorry if none of this makes sense. I personally have had more self fulfillment, fun, etc in doing things like whittling, bowling, fishing, etc than I have playing D&D, 40k and MtG. A hobby should be something you can more or less do by yourself but there's group settings for it as well. You can't really do that with those other activities.
