Best Volkner Deck?

Just wondering what folks’ experiences have been running Volkner decks? I don’t think they’re going to be meta or anything, but fun to play due to multiple win conditions. I’ve been playing around and ended up with these two:

Magnemite x2 Magneton (A1) x2 Magnezone x1 Electabuzz (A1 vs. A1a) x2 Electivire x2 Surge x1 Volkner x1 Oak x2 Ball x2 Communication x2 Leaf x2 Cape x1

Couple ways to win: going first, if you happen to have the magnezone line in your hand, you’re firing off 110 damage by turn 5, and burning energy to be used by Volkner on Electivire later.

Going second, you can focus on electabuzz first, hope you can get magneton and surge the extra energy onto electabuzz before evolving to Electivire, doing 40 on turn 4 and 120 by turn 6.

You brick less often with pokemon communication, but the pre-evolutions don’t have much HP, and can get taken down quickly by the new dark decks if you don’t get luck. Open to suggests to making it more consistent.

Option 2:

Less consistent in my experience, but still fun. If you happen to draw into the Luxray line and go second, you’re cooking because you can do 20, then 40, then 110 on turns 2, 4, 6, and if you have a Volkner, then you can do 110 again the next turn. If that doesn’t work out, you can still win against Gyarados decks or metal decks that don’t draw Melmetal by targeting the bench with electabuzz before hopefully going into Electivire who can usually take one hit.

It feels like it can be optimized though, and I’m wondering if y’all have had any luck with it
