LMNT alternative
As someone who has a partner with POTS, I understand a lot of the challenges some face here. The biggest being hydration and electrolyte balance. The salt pills are great and the mix's with water are better. I know LMNT and others are touted as some of the best, they mix well, taste great and provide the essentials one needs. Only down side is you pay a premium for all of that and only get 30 servings per case at around $40. If you do two servings a day, that's only 10 days. My partner has done some research and decided to make her own mix. Its the same three active ingredients without the flavoring and sweetener. Obliviously if you have questions or concerns, talk to your qualified health partner. Only downside to this mix is that its pretty gritty due to the salt used.
Mixture ingredients PER 40oz:
Redmond Real Fine Salt. 1tablespoon per 40oz
Magnesium Malate Powder. About 1/8 tsp. My partner is fairly sensitive to magnesium so you can adjust this. Try 1/4tsp per 40oz.
Potassium Citrate Powder. 1/2Tsp per 40oz.
Thats it. For the price of one LMNT you can get all this that can last about one month or more. You can always adjust the servings to meet your needs. Just thought I'd share as everything seems to be going up these days.
