Anyone else having issues with the fountain pen that came in the TLWAT box?

Mine just won't write smoothly if at all. I have a few fountain pens from before and I feel I have some understanding for how they should work. The Opeth one just doesn't flow without me pressing down on it to the point where lesser paper probably would rip.

First I thought it was the ink that was the problem. I switched to one that works well in my other pens and it helped a little bit but the flow still cuts out randomly and sometimes it just wont write.

Just wondering if anyone else had issues.
