Is it rude to recline your seat on a plane?

Hey guys! I need help with honest answers here. I (25F) have always appreciated leaning my chair back when flying because I’m taller than your average girl and have never had a problem with others doing it in front of me because the function exists and I honestly think it makes a big difference! Also, I’ve flown a lot ever since I was a little kid so it’s not like I’m a new flyer. However, I went on a trip recently where my fellow travel buddies were shocked to learn that I always recline it. They said it’s an unspoken rule that it’s a dick move to recline your seat and everyone knows it. I was so shocked as I’ve never heard this before. I need to know if this is a consensus that everyone agrees on?
