"Oh no 🥺 what happened???"
Every ten minutes 🙃 NK2 screams at any inconvenience or refusal (of a fifteenth book when it's time to move on, being told he has to wear some kind of shoes outside, practically any self-care task up to and including diaper changes.) This is because about 60% of the time it works on his parents. Okay, whatever, that's normal toddler being parented permissively. I can handle screaming, it honestly doesn't bother me anymore. I just stand there with him and help him get through the emotions.
But then, MB comes out of nowhere every time and acts like she just walked in on me going at him with a paddle. She walks right up to him and asks him what's wrong in the saddest most scandalized voice. Then when I try to explain, I always feel like I sound like a jerk. But the thing is, she expects these things to happen. I know I would be in trouble if I didn't change his diaper or put shoes on him or brush his teeth. I don't understand what she wants me to do.
