Mods aren’t pitching in

Hi, if a mod hasn’t helped moderate since Sept 2024, but they have Reddit premium + a Reddit streak (so they’re still using Reddit everyday) is it time to start thinking about removing them for being inactive?

I was planning on removing them after they went a full year without mod actions, but yeah it’s been a noticeable amount of time…

The other mod is doing an extremely minimal amount of work; I feel like the inactive mod is setting a bad example? I guess this is on iOS iPhone and Desktop?

Next day update: thanks everyone for your feedback. The top mod of the sub I moderate on this account has been inactive since 2023 when they added me. For this situation I think it’s fine to just leave them. I was mostly talking about a situation on another account where I am the top mod. I may hold off on removing them until a new mod is added, or until that year passes. Thank you for the feedback that inactivity should be discussed privately! There is some tension in the mod team, so I may just wait until an inappropriate amount of time passes before taking action.

The Reddit premium was brought up because this made it seemed like they are still active on Reddit, or could easily help moderate if they wanted to, or possibly just “watch” and read everything. This can be irritating.
