Games have does this before. Do an event in some sort parallel world where all of them are completely opposite from their real world counterparts. They could be doing fantasy cosplay with each other to spice things up. They could be sneaking into a secret facility. Who knows.

Or like Sylus, MC was dreaming. It wasn't real.
