Should I leave legal aid job now? Are federal grant funded positions in danger?

So, I work at a legal aid/ non profit organization and my position is funded through a HUD grant… and I’m worried about the federal funding freeze and future cuts. I know it’s been rescinded and there was an injunction, but I’m concerned that is just temporary and a sign of things to come. I know some similar orgs are doing hiring freezes and I’ve heard some orgs like mine aren’t taking new cases due to funding worries.

Would it be smart to jump ship now? I know of some local offices that are hiring now, and don’t want to wait around and have those positions get filled. I’ve only been at my current job less than 6 months though, and also don’t want to panic and do something rash.

Thoughts? Anyone else in a grant funded job in a similar position?
