New addition to the family!
I bought the KJr on a whim five years ago during a Black Friday sale at Walmart. Didn't know anything about this style of cooking but figured WTH let's try it. Fast forward to today and after spending way too much time on YouTube and much experimenting, gotta say I've gained some skills though nowhere near the level of some of you.
The Jr was fine for my wife and I but struggled with larger groups. Time to go large so picked up a BJ2 last week. First cook was tonight (pineapple pork tenderloins). Wow I am impressed with the bigger sized grill! I developed many techniques and strategies to control temperature and not chase it up and down. The BJ2 is much more accurate than the Jr at managing temps, maybe because of the size and air volume? I was able to dial in the temp perfectly for the indirect cooking portion and then raise it high for the sear. Maybe in retrospect it was good to learn on the Jr and then move up to the BJ2.
Very happy to now have two options for cooking! And thanks to everyone for contributing to this sub. I learn so much from all of you!
