Indian author books

Please suggest me some Hindi and English books by Indian authors. I enjoy reading Hindu mythology and fiction. But since I am a grown up I am willing to give other genres a try too. Since I am in India I want to buy the books that I can travel with Edit: I am so overwhelmed by all the responses in a good way :) I am going to try read them all :)
