Misled by SBI Credit Card Salesman About Credit Limit?
So, I recently walked into a Reliance Digital store, and an SBI credit card salesman approached me. Initially, I wasn’t interested, but he insisted I apply. He asked about the max limit on my current card (150k), and when I told him, he promised me that the SBI card would have a higher limit than that.
Fast forward: I applied, went through KYC, office and home verification, and finally, the card got approved. But here’s the catch—the limit is just 75k! Naturally, I called him to ask what’s going on, and he brushed it off, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll get your limit increased. Just chill, I can do it in a few calls, and you won’t even have to wait.”
Now I’m wondering—was he just making fake promises to get me to sign up, or is there some truth to what he’s saying? I know salespeople often overpromise to hit targets, but if he knew he couldn’t deliver, wouldn’t he face consequences for lying?
What do you guys think? Has anyone been in a similar situation with SBI or other banks? Should I trust this guy, or just assume it’s a typical sales tactic?
