Struggling to Get Our First Credit Cards – Frustrating Experience

My friend and I are trying to get our first credit cards, but we’ve been facing a lot of rejections and challenges. Here's our situation:

I joined my first job 4 months ago and have 3 salary slips, but since my CIBIL score is 0 (new to credit), banks are rejecting my applications. To make things worse, my company didn’t create a salary account for us, so I don’t even have that option to fall back on. My salary is ₹50k, and I thought that would help, but it hasn’t.

My friend decided to try the FD-backed credit card option with HDFC Bank. He opened an FD of ₹40k a month ago, but even after all this time, there’s been no update from them. He got so frustrated that he told them he doesn’t want the card anymore, and now they’re saying it’s not possible to cancel the FD and take his money back.

Meanwhile, I applied for a Canara Bank credit card since I get my salary credited there, but they’re also not responding. It’s been weeks, and I’m stuck without any updates.

This entire process has been so frustrating. Does anyone have advice or suggestions on how to get our first credit cards? Are there any better options or banks we should try?
