What will suit my ageing hair?

I'm in my 40s and the grey is creeping in (pic 2). I've had my hair various shades of red for the last 5 years, most recently with highlights (pic 3). The colour has all faded out now, people say they like it but I think it's picking up the red in my skin (pic 1, plus roots (pic 2 again). Last 3 pics are closest to my natural colour but still dyed. Pics go backwards in time, so I'm oldest in pic 1, youngest in pic 15 (just in case anyone says the dark hair makes me look younger lol).

I'm totally open to suggestions for what I do next! I ultimately want to go grey gracefully but don't want to just stop dyeing as I think it will look mess the way it is now. And I like having nice/fun hair - it's a thing I'm known for amongst friends and family.
