Monza Gold in the f3500 on controller was the hardest event I've ever attempted in gaming.
The photo you see here is 6 mins left to put a time down. I have already put 2000+ miles into this week's challenge. My split times for a perfect lap are in the mid 1:24s a very safe Gold position. The ghost you see is .500 ahead of me so that means I am .500 faster than that ghost, and that ghost was slow through Parabolica, so if I nail Parabolica I will easily complete a mid 1:24 on this very lap.
Greatness was not meant to be for me today though. I messed up Parabolica, and after 2000+ laps spent trying, I have my first ever Silver in a weekly TT.
This was by far the hardest thing I have ever attempted in gaming. The controller slow speed steering felt like a roll of the dice every chicane, the sweet spot on controller to hit the chicanes without getting a red lap was so razor thin on controller, that if you didn't time your flick of the joystick at the exact right time, the slow animated motion of steering would either go too fast or too slow, making it extremely difficult to be consistent.
I wish there was a separation for GT Gold medals and F1 Gold medals, because I have never had issues with Gold in a GT car, but here I am, with my first Silver from an F1 car that is insanely difficult to drive fast at Monza. I cannot emphasize how hard it is to time those chicanes right on the controller while still keeping speed.
Anyone else have trouble with this one this week?
