Wind Stream Ruined My Game!

I was playing a game and was doing pretty good, better than normal. It was down to the last team and I was the last member standing. We were West of Anvil Square near an icy area and I went to blast the last two teammates with my Shockwave Hammer. However, my foot practically grazes the wind stream they were behind and it took me out of then hammer slam animation and into the gliding animation, and I was killed. This is annoying and I've noticed that the hammer animation can be stopped by really random things like this that make no sense. So far, this season has been a bit of a let down compared to the last few, and I think how cluttered this map feels has something to do with it.
