Amsterdam Hotel Recs (Looking for a quiet area close to transit)

My husband (30M) and I (30F) will be going to Amsterdam this summer with my in-laws who are in their early 70's. We are looking for a hotel that is in a quiet neighborhood, close to transit, and ideally has an elevator for my in-laws. My father in law would like to avoid steep staircases, especially after a long day of sightseeing.

My goal is to get to the city center and other attractions like the Anne Frank House or Van Gogh Museum in about 20 minutes from the hotel via public transit. I'd like to know which neighborhoods to search, where to avoid, and ideally some names of hotels.
