Cold weather limp mode but not really

My car sat over night and the weather dropped to 8 F. This morning, temp was around 17-19 F, on my commute my car entered a state where the valves were stuck open when I was in normal mode. The car had almost no power like it was in limp mode and the transmission would shift very inconstantly and jumpy. However, there was no check engine lights and there was no pop up letting me know there was a issue. If anyone has any insight as to what the issue could be it would be greatly appreciated
