Issue with edibles and tolerance

Im going to start off by saying I do not recommend anyone try the following and it's not a joke this is a serious question.

Has anyone else ever taken a heroic dose of THC (1,000mg or more)?

Back story is I've been a cannabis user for over 20 years now, on average I smoke about a quarter oz of flower and 5 grams of wax a week. I very seldom eat edibles until this recent trial. I got a bag of peanut butter cups (200mg) and figured I'd eat half or 100mg as I wanted to get pretty tore up. Nothing happened. My previous time approx a month before I ate 100 and was dead to the world.

The next time I ate all 200. Still nothing which I thought was really strange. So I wait a week and tried 400mg. At first I was pretty scared as if that much decided to kick in and and the high go bad I'd be screwed. But yet again... Nothing.

So I talk to the dispensary worker who happened to be a nurse and he explained edibles are processed by the liver. I do have a very nasty history with alcohol and have been a full blown alcoholic 2x in my life (sober 2 years now) and that got me wondering if maybe my liver was damaged from years of drinking? But a month prior to all this 100mg destroyed me.

Anyway, this testing continues and about 2 hrs ago I drank 1000mg of some infused lemonade. Yes this is from a dispensary and has testing results so it's not bunk.

I have a nice little buzz going on like I would if I did a dab, but I would still be able to function normally with out it being obvious.

Anyone know what's going on with me? I find it strange that a dose that would send majority of cannabis users to the ER and I have a buzz. Is it possible I have some form of liver damage where maybe it's not functioning properly?
