Hoping this might help someone. I know it is so much trial and error with this, but 4 things I started about a month ago have improved things for me substantially. I still have some bad days, but I’m not wanting to rip my eyes out 24/7 and that’s a huge win for me. 1. Xiidra 2x per day as directed. It burns like hell for the first few minutes and I almost stopped. But glad I stuck with it. And lucky for me my insurance approved to cover it after some back and forth with my doctor. 2. PRN De3 Omega softgels, 3 per day. I know it is debated whether these have any real benefits, but they seem to be helping me so I’ll keep using them. 3. Adding a humidifier next to my bed at night. I definitely wake up without my eyes feeling so dried out, plus an added benefit for both me and my husband of our sinuses not being dried out. The humidified air just feels so nice. 4. Keeping eye wipes on my nightstand and wiping my eyes before I even open them in the morning. I use either the Ocusoft Lid Scrub Plus or the Noveha Tea Trea Cleansing Wipes. If I get even a tiny piece of the dry crusties that build up overnight in my eye when I wake up, it’s a bad eye day all day. This has stopped that all together. I know none of this is groundbreaking, but after about a month of being consistent with these steps, I’m have more good eye days than I have in years, and not needed to constantly put drops in all day. I do still put in my drops at night and gel right before I go to sleep of course.
