[SPOILERS] Post-game blues :_( How are you coping?
I'm sure you are familiar with the feeling - You finish a game (or a novel) you loved and now you are left with a deep sadness and a lingering obsession that nothing but more game content could satisfy. Probably it all comes down to dopamine and/or serotonin drops (plus each person's personality) but the feeling is still real and it really, really sucks.
I thought I'd cope better, but frankly I'm having a hard time and I'd love to hear from fellow DA fans who are feeling the same (or can spare any advice), to feel a little less... lonely.
Also, I think it's only been after finishing the game that I realised how much I had been waiting for it. 10 years is a long, long time... And it adds up to the sadness somehow, because I spent my 100 hours of gameplay in a complete bliss, feeling like it was a dream come true (and it was).
I know this sadness comes from positive feelings (thankfully), but it's still difficult to handle. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and feel grateful it exists and I got to play it... But, at the same time, I am just so, so sad it's over. I know I can play it all over again, but second playthroughs never feel the same to me, as much as I enjoy them too.
What did you do when you finished the game? How are you feeling/coping?...
(Thanks a lot for reading ;_;).
[EDITING my post to add your ideas below, as a tl;dr for anyone else feeling the same.
You're all so lovely, thank you very much for the comments. I'm not active on Reddit so the immediate reaction to my post is being very heartwarming]
IDEAS FOR COPING, given by the community:
- Play again! Try new classes, factions, difficulty level...
- Read the books/comics/fanfics
- Do fanarts, write fanfics
- Look at other people's screenshots, engage online
- Play a comfort game
- Read a serie with a similar vibe
- Play The Sims 4 (this suggestion really made me laugh, it feels so real haha)
