I don't get dnb

I love techno, house, psytrance. I like rock, hiphop, reggaeton, electronica. So I would consider myself pretty open minded.

I tried dnb and I just don't like it at all. I can see the influence of other genres and can enjoy parts of some tracks, but then the dj/ producer starts adding sounds which are just anoying to me.

Any track, artist, set recommendations to convince me otherwise?

Also is there a specific drug which made you fall in love with dnb? I would guess alcohol, that would be unfortunate because I don't like getting fucked up, but maybe I'm wrong. (Not suggesting music can only be enjoyed with drugs, but I think most music scenes have some favorites.)
