Nobody knows the pain of divorce

Almost none of the people I work with are divorced, almost all are married with kids in HS or college.

Recently a guy at work had to go to the hospital for some minor thing, and everyone was like we have to get him a get well card, blah blah

I got separated 2 years ago and divorced a year ago and nobody did anything for me. Didn't even take me out for lunch or happy hour.

I even told them I was going through a divorce because my mind was cloudy and I wasn't 100% present in the meetings and I didn't want them to think I was checked out and looking for another job.

We lose our best friend, lover, parent of our kids, someone who helps with household chores, we lose a bunch of money, a house, retirement and nobody cares.
