How do I use my PS5 controller to play Disco Elysium on Steam?

I connected my PS5 controller but nothing seemed to work, I also activated Steams controller settings and Steam said that my controller was compatible with the game but I am unable to do anything with my controller let alone move the protagonist, what should I do?
