Denton is ugly
I’m just gonna say it… Denton is an ugly city. Visually speaking. It lacks a cohesive aesthetic. I don’t even know why I feel the need to make a post on here about how I feel about this town. I know a lot of you guys are about to cook the hell outta me for saying such a rude thing but let’s be real… with the exception of the square and a couple streets that have million dollar antique homes on them- Denton looks like shit.
Nothing matches. There are some spots that are a-little dated and it feels cutesy like the mall… but other areas are just fucking eyesores (east McKinney st, most of teasley and university)
I’ve been working in Denton for 7 years and I get a lot of clients that are shocked to learn I’ve never lived here… but tbh the scenery drives me nuts! If I ever wanna feel better I goto frisco. that city is nice and sleek and modern and isn’t run down in the name of “keeping that home town vibe” which really just translates to “here is another apartment from the 80’s (that is on its 5th coat of “landlord special paint)
Thank god we have the square… it really helps our ‘face value’ out a lot. But even that has a big ass brick wall just covering a vacant lot?? Like bruh wtf.
My rant is over: feel free to tear me a new one in the comments about how wrong I am and how if I don’t like Denton I should just get the hell out.
