Is it scam?!

I had applied for Bpcl Sbi fuel credit card in Bengaluru through an agent who stands in petrol bunk.

They visited me in person and did the kyc once the credit score got passed. Later, had a telephonic verification and an e agreement. This call came from Blr.

Then, had a person physically verify me at the office entrance. Everything was fine till here!

The very next day I received a call stating “I am calling from Sbi credit card, head office - Chennai. Confirm your mother’s name”. I felt this is very impromptu as no one gave me a headsup on this and it was a bit unconventional to get straight into the point with no formal preface. I simply told them "mine is already done and I havent received any intimation for this call. Btw is SBI cards ho in chennai?" They hung up. Received a call again, seemed like some higher ups. He repeated so did I and told the HO is GGN. He was furious and told I am not gonna ask for any otp anol, just verification so we can dispatch. I said I am not comfortable. The next time they called I did a con call with my initial POC. They hung up.

Later, my poc after verifying with his seniors said that was legit call, he wasnt aware and its unusual to have it from Chennai tho. He said he has requested for other call as the card is put on hold. The very next day (yesterday), I recd call from a lady who said that she is from SBI and told my card is put on hold, she can verify and dispatch. I asked her why is the call from a mobile number. She said she works in the Blr HO - Mg road. I explained what had happened till then and she acknowledged call from Chennai seems like a scam. She specified to just talk to her to get it sorted.

She called after sometime and started the verification and I was confirming it. I just had a feel like she is not cross verifying rather sounds like collecting the info (the pace - slowness). She went onto verify address, I said it quickly like we do in other verifications. She started asked me one by one like whats the door number etc. I asked dont you have the details with you?, why do you want me to repeat. Then I asked her for her id proof or something as I am really anxious and no disrespect to her. She said she isnt supposed to and then I said I am a bit uncomfortable and hung up.

Seriously, whats this? and what am I supposed to do?
