Urgent guys, can my dad get a credit card?
I need a credit card for US transactions since international debit cards aren’t accepted. I’m an MBBS graduate prepping for PG exams but have no credit history, and all my credit card applications, including a pre-approved Amazon Pay ICICI, were rejected due to this.
My dad, a govt employee in the Dept of Education,KA never owned a credit card(Gross income 1.5L per month, daily gets bombarded with an sbi message that he is eligible for a credit limit of 4L).His CIBIL score dropped from the 800s to 650s because he’s a guarantor for my uncle, who’s been defaulting on a loan since 2021. Despite my dad’s solid credit history (several loan closures, on-time EMI payments), will the bank issue him a credit card, or will his guarantor status prevent it? Should we ask the branch manager to consider his individual credit history, or is it not worth pursuing?
