How is the Bank of America Travel Rewards Credit Card a good deal? It is often recommended a top $0 AF credit card but it seems to only be 1.5x points per dollar spent?
Hi,
I often see the Bank of America Travel Rewards Credit Card recommended as a top $0 AF credit card. However, I am not understanding the value. It gives you 1.5x points per dollar spent, and points are 1 cent apiece when redeemed for.
However, by contrast:
- Capital One Quicksilver is 1.5% cash back on everything, doesn't matter what you redeem it for. This is same rewards as BoA Travel but no strings attached on what it's for or redeemed for.
- Wells Fargo Active Cash is 2% cash back on everything. This is same deal as Capital One Quicksilver but even better catch-all cash back card.
- Wells Fargo Autograph is 3% cash back on travel, in addition to other purchases such as groceries and food. Is this not equivalent to BoA's reward structure except for more purchases and a larger cash back amount?
Am I misunderstanding or is BoA Travel Rewards card legitimately more limited and lower cash back than all of these options? It seems like it but I have often seen pages recommending it, so want to make sure I understand.
