Looking for answers regarding chronically inflamed nasal passages

I've been dealing with my nasal passages being inflamed whenever I am laying down for years now, and have finally decided to stop using Vicks Sinex spray after learning of the risks of long term use of it. Unfortunately though, the decongestant sprays that have an active ingredient are the only thing that ever works because it's not a matter of mucus blocking the passages. I can use extra strength saline spray and a VapoInhaler over and over for hours with little to no results. I also don't have any of the other typical allergy issues like watery/itchy eyes and whatnot. The only thing that seems to naturally give me relief is standing or sitting upright in a room or area with a low temperature, and there is never any drainage whenever I do finally get relief. This is obviously of zero help to me when it comes to sleep though. It's practically a miracle for me to get more than 5 hours of sleep at a time, although I do have other chronic issues that play into that as well. If I try to go back to sleep though, it becomes entirely hopeless without a decongestant spray.

My question to you guys is: What do you think could be the actual underlying reason for this, and is it something that can be managed without prescription drugs - as I already have more than enough of those in my life as it is, and this isn't something that my workman's comp would cover.

Details that may help to better understand my situation:

• Broke my nose in 6 different places at once (please don't ask lol) when I was a kid and had to have surgery. Since then, my left nostril is now more closed off, but I have gotten used to it over the years. As long as I'm not dealing with any inflammation, then my left nostril isn't an issue. Just figured it might help to point out.

• Inflammation seems to mostly happen when laying down. Smoke can cause some inflammation, but it's not usually bad enough to where I can't breathe through my nose at all and I'm rarely around smoke anymore these days anyway.

• If I stand up or sit up in a cold area, the inflammation will usually subside pretty quickly. If I lay back down though, it will come back quickly as well.

• Saline spray seems to give very minor relief, but only for 30 seconds to a minute before the passages are completely closed again, where as decongestant sprays work almost instantly and keep my passages from becoming inflamed again until it wears off. Even nasal strips do next to nothing because the passages will just continue to swell up further anyway.

• I tried a humidifier overnight for the first time 2 days ago, and I actually woke up without inflamed passages at first. Less than an hour later though, they still ended up getting inflamed, even though I left the humidifier running after I woke up, and I woke up with my first ever legit sinus pressure headache. So I don't think humidifiers are the answer for me specifically.

If anyone has any specific questions, I will be happy to answer and also edit them into the OP if it's important. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and respond. Any information is much appreciated.
