Tier 2 is not end of the world!

Just met someone who got into McKinsey as a consultant after doing MBA from Nirma University.

Of course she didn’t get the job from campus but she got into consulting in decent company. Switched into another consulting role and after 1 year into that she will now be joining McKinsey this April.

Just to tell you she was among toppers of her class.

Point is tier 2 or other colleges are not as bad as this sub makes it look like. We often see posts of how people are yet to be placed and actual packages or roles might not be too lucrative

And they are not wrong! But what you need to realise is tier 2 colleges are places where you have to fight your own battle. If you work hard and remain on top you’ll have great career!

If you just party for 2 years do not network, do not study, do not participate in any competition s then my friend you would just get 10 LPA job.

MBA is not government job where if you joined class B Job you’ll forever remain in that and could never reach class A.

If you’ll work hard and play your networking right you’ll definitely be on par with
most of tier 1 grads if not better.

If you’re thinking on joining tier 2 colleges please assess the situation on your own especially about the loan. This is the big drawback that eats away your ROI. Having said that if you have long term goals you should be fine.
