Why does everyone want 15-20lpa package as a fresher ?

Everywhere i see, people say things like " what should i do to get XXlpa package "

Money is important but i think it takes time.

Even if you don't get that much you still can progress and achieve that in few years later with experience and timely switching companies ( I've seen elders do that most of the time in tech )

I've seen my Relatives or friends families starting their job at very low salaries but with time it never felt like they graduated from a random local AKTU college.

People seem to have a misconception when they see below 10lpa average or median package of any college and considers it bad. In my opinion even a 6-8lpa is good for a fresher and with time, he/she can progress and can get 15-20lpa within few years and can live off a wonderful life.
