Seeking guidance on enhancing my health and longevity: A 40yo male's journey towards optimal well-being
I am a 40yo male interested in a healthy lifespan. Over the past few years, I have been avidly reading and integrating healthy habits and activities into my daily routine. However, I now seek to take a significant stride toward my goal. Thus, I am reaching out to request assistance through this post.
Let me start by providing you with some information about myself.
- Age: 40yo
- Height: 171cm
- Weight: 67-70
- Fat: 17-19% (according to Withings Body Comp)
- Activity: Lately more active (3 times/week to the gym combining cardio and strength)
- Health Condition: High Blood Pressure (I measure regularly using an older version of Withings BPM)
My objective is to enhance various aspects of my life, ranging from sleep and nutrition to anti-aging strategies. I believe that progress can only be achieved by having the ability to track and measure, so I would like to explore ways to track and monitor relevant markers regularly. Currently, I possess the following data and devices:
- I made a 23andme test a few years ago.
- Fitbit Sense 2 (steps, sleep, exercise, ...)
- Withings Body Comp
- Withings BPM (older version)
- Keto Mojo (glucose and ketones)
- I use Cronometer to aggregate some data and track nutrition.
- I underwent a bone health assessment that revealed my bone density to be a bit low (I guess this could be a lack of Calcium or Vitamin D).
Having read multiple information on Reddit and other sources, I believe I need to implement the following changes:
- I often fall short of meeting my nutritional targets, particularly in terms of vitamins and other essential elements (This could be a consequence of my efforts to restrict my carbohydrate intake). As a solution, I am considering the incorporation of a multivitamin complex, in a capsule format or green powders (I am waiting for some conclusions on this AG1 experiment).
- I am interested in incorporating elements from David Sinclair's routine, specifically:
- NMN
- Resveratrol
- Vitamins D3 and K3 (if not included in the multivitamin complex)
- Omega-3
- Coenzyme Q10
Given all that information, I highly appreciate any advice or guidance you can offer, so I have a few specific questions that I would like to ask:
- While I prefer to have the assistance of a qualified medical professional, I have concerns about finding a suitable doctor who can provide me with the necessary guidance and support. Can you offer any advice on how to identify a reputable healthcare provider? Is it feasible to seek medical help online, or should I restrict my search to a local doctor in my area?
- I believe that routine blood tests are crucial in measuring progress and detecting potential issues. I am curious to know which biomarkers you consider to be the most relevant in assessing overall health and longevity. Additionally, how frequently do you recommend getting these tests done to ensure accurate tracking and measurement of progress?
- As an individual who values the ability to track and measure progress myself, I am keen to explore any tools or devices that may aid in monitoring other relevant biomarkers. Are there any specific devices or technologies that you would recommend for this purpose? I am thinking of some devices that analyze urine such as Vivoo or Withings U-Scan
Thanks!
